DIY Gorgeous Light Fixture Moon

Spread the love

I love this beautiful DIY light moon project.  This project was made for Halloween but can be used any time of year.  Change the witch to the theme you want or leave it plain.  It would make a great centerpiece on the table for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.  What a clever idea, Sadie Seasongoods!

I’ll admit it- when it comes to vintage, salvaged light fixtures, I am an addict. For whatever reason, they are a constant source of inspiration…particularly during Halloween. And leave it to me to completely forget about a large, amazing light globe that I had purchased several years ago. It had gotten pushed back to the far reaches of my Craft Room, where it has been hibernating for way too long!

As I was going through a “Purge the Craft Room” spell a few weeks ago, I retrieved it…and was immediately inspired by the night sky above.

What if I could make this look like the moon?Like a creepy full moon on Halloween…

So now I was on a quest to moon-ify the large, frosted light globe. Why not throw caution to the wind and try sponge painting the inside of the glass? Being such a large orb, I could easily get my hand inside and maneuver it around…
